زمینه و هدف: آموزش دانشجویان پرستاری در مورد مباحث تهویه مکانیکی اهمیت زیادی در جهت جلوگیری از عوارض ناخواسته و مخاطره‌انگیز ناشی از استفاده نادرست از دستگاه ونتیلاتور برای بیماران دارد؛ بنابراین این مطالعه با هدف مقایسه تأثیر آموزش به روش شبیه ساز برخط با روش سخنرانی بر رضایت مندی و عملکرد دانشجویان در مباحث تهویه مکانیکی انجام شد.
مواد و روش ها: این مطالعه نیمه تجربی با طرح دو گروهی، با شرکت 48 نفر از دانشجویان ترم 7 پرستاری دانشکده پرستاری و مامایی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی بیرجند که شرایط ورود به مطالعه را داشتند در سال 1397 انجام شد. نمونه‌ها به روش در دسترس انتخاب و به روش بلوک کردن به دو گروه تخصیص یافتند. ابزارهای مطالعه شامل فرم اطلاعات دموگرافیک، پرسش‌نامه رضایت از روش تدریس و چک لیست ارزیابی عملکرد بود. اطلاعات جمع‌آوری شده با استفاده از نرم افزار SPSS نسخه 22 و آمار توصیفی و استنباطی مانند کای اسکوئر، ویلکاکسون، تی مستقل و من ¬یو ویتنی در سطح معناداری کمتر از 05/0 تجزیه و تحلیل شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که گروه شبیه‌ساز بر خط بعد از مداخله نمره رضایت‌مندی بالاتر و 10 روز بعد از مداخله نمره عملکرد بالاتری را نسبت به گروه سخنرانی گزارش کردند (0/001>p)  همچنین، 10 روز بعد از مداخله میانگین مدت زمان اجرای سناریو در گروه شبیه‌ساز برخط به طور معنی‌داری کمتر از گروه سخنرانی بود (0/001>p).
نتیجه گیری: بر اساس یافته‌های مطالعه حاضر استفاده از روش شبیه‌ساز برخط می تواند در راستای آموزش مباحث تهویه مکانیکی به عنوان یک روش جدید مورد توجه قرار گیرد.
