زمینه و هدف: بیماری فنیل کتونوری یکی از شایعترین بیماریهای متابولیک است که در صورت عدم غربالگری و درمان به موقع منجر به بروز عقب ماندگی غیر قابل برگشت شدید می گردد. مطالعه با هدف تعیین ترجیحات والدین مبتلایان به فنیل کتونوری و ارائه کنندگان خدمات درمانی به منظور مقایسه پیامدهای غربالگری با عدم غربالگری انجام شد.
مواد و روش ها: این مطالعه بصورت مقطعی و در سال 1394 اجراشد. 214 نفر از والدین مبتلایان به فنیل کتونوری و 31 کارشناس مسئول از بیمارستانهای منتخب فنیل کتونوری در کل کشور به روش سرشماری در مطالعه شرکت نمودند. ابزار جمع آوری داده ها پرسشنامه بر مبنای رویکرد مبادله زمانی بود. داده ها با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS.23 و آزمون ویلکاکسون تحلیل گردید.
یافته‌ها: میانگین نمره ترجیحات والدین در وضعیت غربالگری شده و تحت درمان (0/74) و در وضعیت بیمار (0/47) بود که این تفاوت از نظر آماری معنی دار بود (0/001>P). میانگین نمره ترجیحات ارائه کنندگان خدمات درمانی در وضعیت غربالگری شده و تحت درمان (73/0) و در وضعیت بیمار (29/0) بود که این تفاوت از نظر آماری معنی دار بود (0/001>P)
 نتیجه گیری: با توجه به اینکه نمره ترجیحات والدین و ارائه کنندگان خدمات درمانی در وضعیت غربالگری شده و تحت درمان نسبت به غربالگری نشده به طور قابل ملاحظه ای بیشتر بود، گسترش کمی و کیفی مراکز نمونه گیری و درمانی در بعد منطقه ای و ملی جهت شناسایی و درمان بهنگام بیماران و نیز اقدامات آموزشی و حمایتی جهت والدین جهت درمان رژیمی مستمر پیشنهاد می گردد.
