زمینه و هدف: خانواده های دارای فرزند معلول به علت ضعف در آستانه تحمل و نارسایی در سازگاری به خدمات آموزشی، مشاور های و حمایت های روانی و مالی نیاز دارند. هدف از این پژوهش اثربخشی آموزش مثبت اندیشی به شیوه گروهی بر تحمل پریشانی و سازگاری اجتماعی مادران دارای فرزندان کم توان ذهنی آموزش پذیر شهر خرم آباد بود.
مواد و روش ها: روش پژوهش نیمه آزمایشی با طرح پیش آزمون- پس آزمون با گروه گواه بود. جامعه آماری پژوهش شامل تمامی مادران دارای کودکان کم توان ذهنی آموزش پذیر مراجعه‌کننده به مدارس استثنایی شهرستان خرم‌آباد در سال تحصیلی 98-1397 بود. از بین مدارس استثنایی تعداد 30 مادر دارای فرزند کم توان ذهنی به روش نمونه¬گیری در دسترس انتخاب و در ادامه تمامی آنان به روش نمونه¬گیری تصادفی ساده در قالب دو گروه آزمایش (15 نفر) و گواه (15 نفر) در پژوهش گمارش شدند. ابزار پژوهش شامل پرسشنامه تحمل پریشانی سیمونز و گاهر، مقیاس سازگاری اجتماعی کالیفرنیا آموزش مثبت اندیشی بود. گروه آزمایش در قالب 10 جلسه 75 دقیقه ای تحت آموزش مثبت اندیشی قرار گرفت. داده های پژوهش با استفاده از روش تحلیل کوواریانس چند متغیره مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که در پس آزمون بین دو گروه تفاوت معناداری وجود دارد و این امر حاکی از اثر بخش بودن درمان مثبت اندیشی در افزایش تحمل پریشانی و سازگاری اجتماعی گروه آزمایش بوده است (05/0p<).
 نتیجه گیری: آموزش مثبت اندیشی یکی از روش های مؤثر در افزایش تحمل پریشانی و سازگاری اجتماعی مادران دارای فرزندان کم توان ذهنی است.
