زمینه و هدف: اثراتی که سرطان بر فرد دارد همانند بی‌اشتهایی، تهوع، استفراغ، تغییرات حسی و فشارهای روانی ناشی از بیماری می‌تواند کیفیت زندگی و عملکرد فرد و خانواده را تحتت اثیر قرار دهد. این مطالعه باهدف تعیین ارتباط درد مزمن با کیفیت زندگی از دیدگاه کودکان بستری در بخش هماتولوژی کودکان بیمارستان بعثت شهر همدان انجام شد.
مواد و روش‌ها: در این مطالعه‌ی همبستگی، 86 کودک مبتلا به سرطان بستری در بخش هماتولوژی کودکان به روش تمام شماری انتخاب و پرسشنامه کیفیت زندگی کیندل و مقیاس درد مزمن اوچر برای تمامی کودکان سرطانی تکمیل شد. داده‌ها به وسیله نرم‌افزار آماری SPSS نسخه 26 و با استفاده از آزمون همبستگی پیرسون مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفتند و در سطح 0/01 معنی‌داری آماری تعریف گردید.
یافته‌ها: شدت همبستگی بین دو متغیر کیفیت زندگی و درد مزمن در کودکان سن مدرسه (0.009= p=0.184 ,r =)  متوسط و معنی‌دار و جهت رابطه منفی و معکوس بود اما در کودکان خردسال (0.115= p=0.118 ,r =)، شدت همبستگی بین دو متغیر ضعیف و جهت رابطه منفی و معکوس و از لحاظ آماری معنی‌دار نبود.
نتیجه‌گیری: درد مزمن ناشی از سرطان در کودکان سن مدرسه که درک بیشتری از بیماری دارند می‌تواند باعث افت محسوس تر کیفیت زندگی شود درحالی‌که در  کودکان خردسال به دلیل درک ضعیف تر از بیماری و وابستگی بیشتر به والدین خود، کیفیت زندگی ممکن است به‌اندازه کودکان  بزرگ‌تر دچار افت نشود.
