Materials & Methods: this is an interventional clinical trial study. 90 patients affected MS referred to Multiple Sclerosis Association in Tohid hospital were selected by convenience sampling method and then randomly assigned to two groups of 45 people. Data collection tools was demographic information, clinical characteristics and self-care questionnaire of Morovati Sharifabad and et al (2016). The first pretest was performed in two groups and then 7 training sessions, two sessions per week each session for 30 to 45 minutes in classes of Multiple Sclerosis Association was performed. First a general need assessment was performed on patients, then we compared and matched it with evidence and texts, and finally we considered the content of our educational care for patients according to up-to-date and valid evidence. After the intervention, posttest was performed in two groups at a distance for 4 weeks. Shapro- wilk test was used to evaluate the normality of valuables and independent t-test and paired- test were used to compare the two groups. Results: the mean score of pre-intervention self-care behaviors in two groups was not significantly different (p= 0.892). The mean score of self –care behaviors in the control group before the intervention was 3.17±0.380 which increased to 3.19±0.372 after the intervention. According to the result of paired t-test, statistical difference was not significant (p=.0.675). The mean score of self –care behaviors in the intervention group before the intervention before the intervention was 3.16±0.458, which after intervention was increased to 3.84±0.267. According to the result of paired t-test, statistical difference was significant (p=0.001). the mean score of self-care behaviors after intervention in two groups was significant (p=0.001). Conclusion: The result of this study showed that evidence based education has a significant effect on self-care of patient with multiple sclerosis and the use of up-to-date and appropriate evidence could increase impact of education on self-care behaviors.
