زمینه و هدف: پیشرفت تحصیلی همواره تابع عملکرد مناسب ابعاد جسمانی، روان شناختی و عملکردی فرد است، بنابراین هدف پژوهش حاضر تعیین نقش میانجی انگیزش پیشرفت در رابطه بین اهمال کاری تحصیلی و منبع کنترل با پیشرفت تحصیلی دانشجویان پرستاری بود.
مواد و روش ها: روش پژوهش توصیفی- همبستگی و به طور خاص مدل یابی معادلات ساختاری بود. جامعه‌ی آماری 726 نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه پرستاری علوم پزشکی شهر بابل در سال 1397 بودند که تعداد 508 نفر به عنوان نمونه ی آماری و به روش تصادفی ساده انتخاب شدند و با پرسشنامه های انگیزش پیشرفت هرمنس، اهمال کاری تحصیلی سولومون و راث بلوم و منبع کنترل راتر ارزیابی شدند.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد بین انگیزش پیشرفت (0/01p≤، 0/29r=) منبع کنترل (0/01p≤، 0/17r=) و اهمال کاری تحصیلی (0/01p≤، 0/19-=r) با پیشرفت تحصیلی رابطه ی معنی داری وجود دارد. مدل پژوهش دارای برازش بوده و تائید شد و 38/0 از واریانس پیشرفت تحصیلی توسط انگیزش پیشرفت، اهمال کاری تحصیلی و منبع کنترل مورد تبیین قرار گرفت و انگیزش پیشرفت در رابطه ی بین اهمال کاری تحصیلی و منبع کنترل با پیشرفت تحصیلی نقش واسطه ای دارا بود.
نتیجه گیری: با کاهش اهمال کاری تحصیلی و افزایش منبع کنترل می توان انگیزش پیشرفت را در دانشجویان بالا برد و پیشرفت تحصیلی آن‌ها را ارتقا بخشید.
