زمینه و هدف: سندرم پیش از قاعدگی  یکی از شایع‌ترین مشکلات زنان در سنین باروری است که اغلب در کار و روابط اجتماعی آن‌ها تداخل ایجاد می‌کند. یکی از نظریه‌های پیشنهادی جهت ایجاد علائم سندرم پیش از قاعدگی، عوامل محیطی مانند استرس می‌باشد. مطالعه حاضر، با هدف مقایسه تاثیر تکنولوژی واقعیت مجازی و هیپنوتراپی بر استرس مبتلایان به سندرم پیش از قاعدگی انجام شد.
مواد و روش‌ها: این مطالعه کارآزمایی بالینی،  برروی 90 نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کرمانشاه که  مبتلا به سندرم پیش از قاعدگی بودند و  به صورت در دسترس انتخاب و سپس به صورت تصادفی در سه گروه  هیپنوتراپی(30نفر)، گروه تکنولوژی واقعیت مجازی (30نفر) و گروه کنترل(30نفر) تخصیص یافتند انجام شد. ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها شامل پرسشنامه­ های اطلاعات دموگرافیک، غربالگری سندرم پیش از قاعدگی  و DASS21 بود. آرام‌سازی از طریق واقعیت مجازی و هیپنوتیزم طی 3 جلسه در گروه­های آزمون اجرا شد و بعد از گذشت یک ماه از اتمام جلسات پس آزمون اخذ شد.  داده­ها با استفاده از آزمون­های آماری تی زوجی و آزمون تعقیبی توکی با SPSS-24 تحلیل شد.
یافته ­ها: میانگین نمره استرس، در گروه­های مداخله نسبت به گروه کنترل، کاهش معناداری داشت (0/001>P) ولی در مقایسه بین دو گروه مداخله، تفاوت معناداری بین این دو روش مشاهده نشد و نقش هرکدام در کاهش استرس یکسان بود(0/620=p).
نتیجه­ گیری: هر دو روش تکنولوژی واقعیت مجازی و هیپنوتراپی برکاهش استرس مؤثر می‌باشند. توصیه می­شود روش هیپنوتراپی و تکنولوژی واقعیت مجازی برای کنترل استرس مورد استفاده قرارگیرد.
