زمینه و هدف: بهبود کیفیت زندگی سالمندان از جنبه‌های مهم درمانی به شمار می رود و استفاده از مداخلات مناسب جهت بهبود کیفیت زندگی و جنبه‌های مختلف آن در سالمندان حائز اهمیت است. این مطالعه باهدف تعیین تأثیر خاطره گویی گروهی بر کیفیت زندگی سالمندان شهر خرم‌آباد انجام گرفت.
مواد و روش­ها: در مطالعه نیمه تجربی حاضر، جامعه آماری متشکل از کلیه سالمندان سرای سالمندان شهر خرم‌آباد در سال 1400 بود که با استفاده از روش نمونه‌گیری در دسترس، 130سالمند دارای معیارهای ورود به مطالعه انتخاب و سپس به شکل تصادفی ساده  (پرتاب سکه) به دو گروه 65 نفره آزمون و کنترل تقسیم شدند. ابزارهای مورد استفاده، فرم اطلاعات دموگرافیک و پرسشنامه کیفیت زندگی سالمندان (Leipad) بود. جلسات خاطره پردازی در طی 8 جلسه با محتوای دوران کودکی و زندگی خانوادگی برای گروه مداخله انجام گرفت. در این مدت جهت گروه کنترل هیچ مداخله ایی صورت نگرفت. 1 ماه پس از انجام مداخله، پرسشنامه کیفیت زندگی توسط هر دو گروه مجددا تکمیل گردید. اطلاعات با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS-23  و آزمون‌های تی زوجی، تی مستقل و کوواریانس تجزیه و تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها:  نمره کیفیت زندگی و حیطه‏های آن بعد از مداخله در افراد گروه آزمون به طور متوسط بیشتر از قبل از مداخله آن بود. با استفاده از آزمون تی زوجی این افزایش نمره از نظر آماری معنادار بود (p<0.05). بر اساس نتایج آزمون آماری تی مستقل، بین نمرات کیفیت زندگی سالمندان دو گروه آزمون و کنترل پس از مداخله تفاوت معنادار آماری مشاهده شد (p<0.05).
نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج حاصل از پژوهش حاضر نشان داد که خاطره گویی گروهی موجب بهبود کیفیت زندگی سالمندان می‌گردد. می‌توان این تکنیک را به طور ساده، آسان، ارزان قیمت و قابل‌اجرا در تمام مراکز درمانی و سرای سالمندان و یا به صورت انفرادی در منزل به کاربرد.
