Background & Aim: Nowadays, domestic violence is one of the most common public health problems around the world, which includes the components of child abuse, elder abuse, and spousal abuse. This study aims to Investigation of violence against men by their wives in community health centers in Sanandaj city, 2022.
Materials & Methods: This study is cross-sectional (descriptive-analytical). The sample size was 341 men living in Sanandaj city. The data collection method was a questionnaire that was completed by self-report method. KMO and Bartlett's sphericity tests were used for data qualification and adequacy. The data were analyzed using descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and analytical (T-tes and χ2) statistical tests in SPSS software version 23.
Results: The results showed that. The mean and total score of spousal abuse was 35.12 with a standard deviation of 8.03. The most common reason for misbehavior is the request for custody of the children (69.5%) and the involvement of the man's family (54.3%), and the least reason for misbehavior is the husband's financial dependence on the woman's family (16.4%) and the husband's emotional dependence on it his own family (16.4%).
Conclusion: The results of this study show the fact that violence against men is done for different reasons. Therefore, it is necessary to expand the culture of conversation and negotiation within the family by increasing the knowledge of individuals, and by reducing the conflict in the family and its management, as well as by carrying out educational measures, it is possible to correct and eliminate the violent behavior of the couple as much as possible
